New Camera

I'm feeling really spoiled, on Black Friday Evan and I went to Farr's in Idaho Falls and purchased my Nikon D40. Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is officially my graduation present, but we figured since they were having a deal with a zoom lens and a camera bag and we could get 6 extra months of use out of it, we would get it now. I'm lovin it!!!!!!!!! I got a few cute pictures of my nephews in Driggs while we were there last weekend so hopefully I'll get some awesome pictures to post soon. :D

Evan's Moose

Evan finally got his moose! I'm way excited for him, and he seems pretty pleased with it. The antler span was about 42 inches, which is really nice for this area. Sorry I've been so slow to post it, so without further ado...

hehe Sorry for the red stuff in the background, his brother Aaron was taking the pictures and prolly didn't realize it was there. :) Anywho, YAY! for the mighty hunter!!!! and Yay that hunting season is done. :D
He made up for his time away from home though and took one for the team. He took me to see "Twilight" and was a great sport about it. I know, I know, I've had several guys tell me that was just too horrible for any man to endure, but there were plenty of other guys in the theater so I don't think he was too traumatized. I quite liked the movie, but Evan was completely lost at some parts. So, I spent the drive home giving him the Twilight rundown. lol Poor guy, he looked at me like I was crazy, but oh well! I love those books! Anywho, hope you enjoy the pics and here's wishing everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Husband Tag

WHAT IS YOUR HUSBAND'S NAME? Evan Scott Hansen
HOW LONG HAVE YOU GUYS BEEN MARRIED? 3 years in March
HOW LONG DID YOU DATE? Almost 4 months, then engaged for 4 more
HOW OLD IS HE? 24, he'll be the big 25 in January
WHO IS TALLER? Definently him, which I LOVE! He's 6'3'', I'm only 5'8''. Actualy, my dad's nickname for Evan is "Long and Tall".
WHO CAN SING BEST? Probably me, I'm the choir nerd in the family ;), but I still love it when he sings, it's super cute. It never ceases to amaze me how many song lyrics he knows.
WHO IS SMARTER? Depends what it is- he's the math mind, I do the english papers ;)
WHO DOES LAUNDRY? Mostly me, but he's always good to help out.
WHO PAYS BILLS? I do...oh joy, oh bliss
WHO SLEEPS ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BED? Looking at the bed, I'm on the right
WHO MOWS THE LAWN? No one yet, but I have a plan for when we have one :D
WHO COOKS DINNER? I do, but Evan really is an awesome cook. I'm more plain jane stuff, he's more apt to experiment.
WHO'S THE FIRST TO ADMIT THEY ARE WRONG? Me again, Evan always teases me that I'm way too apologetic. I have a guilt complex.
WHO KISSED WHO FIRST? I got a sucker-kiss first time around, but he quickly followed up with a real one before my self-esteem bubble was completely gone.
WHO WEARS THE PANTS? hehe What a loaded question! Umm...I'll say he does. I don't like being in charge of most things. If I end up being in charge, that's totally not my fault ;)

Where have all the moosen gone? :0)

WELL, as some of you know, Evan drew on a moose tag this fall and has gone hunting over, and over, and over....alas, no moose. I'm not quite sure what he plans to do with the monstrosity after he gets one, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it I suppose. I'm excited for him to get a big one, it's been a dream of his for a long time. So, hopefully after this weekend we'll have a picture of a great big critter to share with everyone...and his wife will be a lot happier too. :D

Until then, I'll just have to enjoy part of Brian Regan's standup routine..."The moose, the moosen in the woodsen!!"

My List of 6

The Rules:

This invitation comes courtesy of Charish Lane...

1. I have to eat things in even numbers. For example, the classic peanut M&M's. I'll take all the M&M's out of the bag, sort them by color, and then eat some so that there are only even numbers of each color left. Then I can have an even number of "chewing opportunities" for both sides of my mouth. I also switch sides when I eat, right then left.

2. I love to play the piano and sometimes sing along, but NOT when anyone is around. I am extremely self-conscious to sing by myself. I'm totally a group voice. As for playing, I like to accompany people more than do the solo thang.

3. I have a wierd dark spot in my right eye. It's kind-of a triangle, and almost looks like a dark slice of pie against the brown. I don't know where it came from, and never noticed it until my friend Bethany pointed it out in 4th grade.

4. I am afraid of werewolves (except the ones in Twilight) and black dogs. This is directly caused by watching "NeverEnding Story" when I was little. The wolf thing that jumps out of the rock-holy crap!! It's worse when the dogs have red eyes too, but black dogs/wolves in general make me squirm a little.

5. I secretly want to be a ballroom dancer, or maybe just have "dancer legs", BUT what do ya do. I tried out once in high school with my friends and didn't make it, but it was so much fun!

6. Some of my favorite comfort things are: new socks, fleece blankets, warm bread and soup, my mom's crockpot chicken, rain, freshly washed sheets, going to the temple, warm towels straight from the dryer, beautiful music, laughing children, and sunsets.

Enjoy!

Well...

I really am trying to post, I promise! ;) I'm having trouble getting any pictures to download from my computer. SO in the meantime I will do some other posting until I can get that fixed. We've had a pretty crazy year so far. In April we wen to see my sister and her family in Florida, but that post will have to wait for pictures. You can't talk about Florida without pictures!! That's just wrong, so more on that later...

I did my 8 weeks of summer slavery/clinical hours this past summer. It was awesome to get some consistent practice and saw some fun things. I love doing cases in the OR, that is awesome and most of the doctors are awesome about letting students see right in the action. I've seen two brain surgeries, and open heart, a full knee replacement, a femoral rodding, all sorts of stuff. It's awesome. I'll never be able to get over how really undelicate surgery is. It seems like Those guys just wack away at stuff sometimes, but then it turns out beautiful. I'm glad the summer servitude is over though. Only 7 months to go til graduation!!!!! I'm so excited, can ya tell? Even more so because only about 2 more for Evan before he graduates in December. I'm so proud of him for getting this done, it's not been easy but he stuck it out and has done a fantastic job--nice job babe!

Let's see, what else? This school year has been hectic juggling life in general. We're both working and going to school, doing church stuff, all that jazz. I'm the Primary President in my ward--which by the way is the most AWESOME calling I've ever had! These kids are so hilarious, but so amazing to listen to and learn from. Anywho, they never miss a beat, so you have to be careful what you say. ;) Evan just got but in as the 1st counselor in our bishopric a few weeks ago, and he came in to do the bishopric message in Primary last week. I told the kids he was really nervous so they had to be extra good. He told them a story from his mission and did a really cute job. Then I had sharing time, we were learning about how Heavenly Father always answers our prayers, but sometimes the answer is yes, and sometimes the answer is no. I told them a story about a little boy, and he prayed for things like getting ice cream for dinner instead of broccoli, but he still got broccoli and so thought his prayer wasn't answered. From that point on, the kids' answer to any question was "Eat broccoli!!" It was pretty cute.

That's pretty much it for now. If you have any suggestions about getting pictures to load, please let me know! Evan is on a flag-football team right now and has banned me from taking pictures to put on here. Something about an insult to his manhood or something...hehe OH, there will be pictures, I promise. ;)

Our Trip to Florida

Okay SO I've tried to post this about 5 billion times, but I've had problems getting pictures to upload. You can't talk about Florida without pictures!!!!! My connection at home is just too slow. But, my mom's is much better and I've finally remembered to bring pictures with me, so here is a mass picture posting to catch up on the last year...

Earlier this year in March, we went to visit my sister Jamie and her family in Florida. She had a new baby in February, Allison, and we went out to attend her baby blessing. It was so much fun!! It was still cold and snowy in Idaho, so it was nice to go and enjoy some warmth and sunshine. Jamie has four kids now, and they are a riot! We brought my other nephew Trey with us--he LOVED flying on the plane--and it was awesome to see the kids all playing together since we're not all in one place very often. Remember those days of sleepovers, laughing all night and pretending to be asleep when mom finally comes in to make you settle down? Ah, those were good times. :)

This is Trey with my Grandma, Doris Gardner, while we were waiting at the airport.

Evan and Trey playing Wii boxing--I love the Wii!!

Hailey with her favorite person--Grandpa (my dad)

Playing card games--Evan, Brandon, my mom, and Trey

I love this picture, it totally shows the personality of the kids. Katelyn decided to dress up and Brandon crashed in on her photo shoot. :)

While we were there, we took Evan and Trey for their first swim in the ocean, and they LOVED it!! Jamie's son Brandon tried out surfing on his boogy-board, and the kids played for hours in the waves. It was such a nice day!! I love the beach!

These are the kids, big and small ;), enjoying the sunshine and water. As well as Katelyn striking a totally Katelyn pose. She is hilarious!

Shell hunting was fun too, we all found cool shells to bring home.
Here is Katelyn and Trey dividing up their spoils...

We all also went to SeaWorld--can I say WOW?!?!?! That place is amazing!!! The shows were incredible, and we even go to see the baby dolphins in the nursery pool.

The only bad part was coming home and driving back to Idaho in a blizzard--BRRRRRRRRR!!! No joke, we went from 85 degrees to 23 in a matter of a few hours. Plus we couldn't see because of the blowing and drifting snow from just outside Salt Lake all the way to Inkom. It was crazy!
